Gas heating appliances and installations

The Technical Regulatory Authority conducts national surveillance of the introduction of heating gas (natural gas, liquid gas, biogas, artificial gas) gas appliances and gas installations, gas appliance operation (designing, production, building, installation, disassembly, adjustments, testing, repairs), maintenance, operating in a protected area, launching on the market, and complying with the requirements established for an audit.

The gas installation use control helps us to check whether the gas installation complies with the safety requirements and whether the audit prescribed by the law has been conducted and whether, if required, a person organising compliance with the prescribed requirements, the use supervisor, has been determined.

In addition, we check compliance with the requirements of gas appliances (gas cookers, gas water heaters, boiler working on gas, etc.) sold in Estonia, which includes checking the compliance of the appliances and their marking and checking whether they have a user and maintenance manual in Estonian.

In the case of gas work operators and gas installation builders, we check whether the economic activity has been registered in the register and whether the staff is competent and their activities compliant with the requirements.
