In the field of communications services, the task of the Technical Regulatory Authority is to ensure a sufficient and timely resource of radio frequencies and telephone numbers for the provision of communications services and perform national surveillance of the field of communications.
We also monitor to ensure radio equipment launched on the market meets the requirements and by using radio ether monitoring we ensure that the radio frequency users do not cause radio disruptions in the ether. As a national standardisation organisation, our task is to protect the interests of Estonia upon standardising the field of communications. We shall issue respective permits to people for the use of radio frequencies and telephone numbers.
For us, it is also important to monitor to ensure communications companies provide communications services with high quality and reliability; for this purpose, we also check and publish overviews of the quality of communications services. We monitor to ensure telephone numbers are used properly and there are no disruptions in number portability.
